Privacy Policy

Metrum is a study planner. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We do not sell your data, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use your data for behavioural advertising.
Content and conduct
Groups, study plans and subject names are written by users. Metrum has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour — see the Terms of Use.
In the iPhone app you can report or block anyone from the ••• menu. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content or accounts that break the rules. People you block disappear from rankings, feeds and study rooms.
What we collect
Account data: your name, email address, username and, if you upload one, a profile picture. This is what lets you sign in and keeps your data attached to you.
Study data: your sessions, study cycles, syllabus progress, tasks, goals, streaks and the groups you belong to. This is the content of the product — without it there is nothing to show you.
Preferences: theme, language, notification settings and your chosen companion.
Purchase data: when you subscribe, we store which plan you are on and when the period ends. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple or by Stripe and never reach our servers.
How we use it
To operate your account, sync your progress across your devices, produce your statistics, run study groups and rankings, and restore your preferences.
To send the study reminders you opt into. You can turn these off at any time, on the device or in the app's settings.
To determine whether your subscription is active, so paid features unlock on every device you use.
Who else sees it
Supabase hosts our database and authentication. Apple processes App Store subscriptions; Stripe processes subscriptions bought on the web. Each of them only receives what it needs to do that job.
If you join a study group, other members of that group can see your display name, profile picture and the study activity you contribute to the group — that is the point of a group. Nothing else about you is shared.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
Where it lives and how long
Your data is stored for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, the account and its associated data are removed from our backend.
Backups may retain copies for a short period before they roll over.
Your choices
You can edit your profile and preferences at any time in the app.
You can delete your account, and everything attached to it, from Profile → Account → Delete account in the iPhone app, or from Settings on the web.

Children
Metrum is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
